Carolyn S. Hop, age 74, passed away Wednesday at Clark Memorial Hospital. She was born in New Albany, Indiana and was the youngest of eight children. She created maps for the U.S. Census Bureau and retired in 2010. She enjoyed crossword and soduku puzzles, but also loved to keep up on current events by watching the news.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the ER and ICU nursing staffs at Clark Memorial Hospital for their amazing care and compassion.
Survivors include: children - Mike Amburn (Diane) and Shari Murphy (Jeff); grandchildren – Chris (Laura), JD, Aaron (Stephani), Chelsea and Christi; great-grandchildren – Ariel, Nate, Amelia, Hadleigh and Michael.
Preceded in death: parents – Harry J. and Marie E. Jackson; siblings – Junior, Tommy, Shirley, Doris, Gladys, Lillian and Barbara; son – Scott Hop
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 26th, 2-8 PM and Saturday, July 27th, 10-11:30 AM at Market Street Chapel of Naville and Seabrook Funeral Homes. Funeral service will be held on Saturday at 12 PM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help with burial to follow at Walnut Ridge Cemetery.
Expressions of sympathy may be given to the American Heart Association in memory of Scott Hop or the American Cancer Society in memory of Carolyn Hop.
