Dale E. Martin, 99, originally from Palmyra, Indiana and long-term resident of New Albany, passed away on Saturday at Floyd Memorial Hospital. He was a WWII Army Veteran and loved to tell stories to anyone who would listen. He loved to travel and enjoyed walking the streets of New Albany. He was a Christian, devoted father, grandfather and uncle.
Survivors include his daughters- Dailene Bobbitt (Roger) and Martha Thompson (Houston); grandchildren-Rebekah (Thompson) Whiteley (Joshua), Dena (Bobbitt) Bahe (Bradley); Step-grandchildren-Dale Hayes and Kenneth Persinger and great-grandchildren-Jonah, Kaylin, Abigail, Cooper and Ezekiel.
Preceded in death are his wife-Opal Martin; parents-George and Daisy Martin; brothers- Everett, Mynard, Victor, George Jr., Earl and Carl Martin; sister- Georgia (Martin) Ruff and step-daughter- Sherry Persinger.
Visitation: 4:00-8:00 PM Tuesday and 9:00-10:00 Wednesday at Market Street Chapel of Naville and Seabrook Funeral Homes. Funeral Service:10:00 AM on Wednesday at the funeral home. Interment will take place at Palmyra Cemetery in Palmyra, Indiana.
