David W. Reynolds, 102, passed away at Autumn Woods in New Albany, Indiana, on Wednesday, October 10. He was born in Tiskilwa, Illinois, on October 25, 1915, to Roy and Garnet (Mason) Reynolds. He was a Kentucky Colonel, a member of Culbertson Baptist Church, and a past member of the Louisville Iris Society. He raised award-winning apples and peaches in Oldham County, Kentucky, in the 1940s. When he later moved his family to New Albany, he worked in construction, then was a milkman for Purity Maid. He loved music, cars, trees, barns, and covered bridges. He loved exploring his family history, finding new cousins, telling stories, and singing silly songs. He was an indulgent, loving, and affectionate father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marjorie Ellen Mount; his son, David W. “Sonny” Reynolds II; brothers Rye, John, Jim; and sister Polly. He is survived by his daughters, Mara Lee Baumgartle and Charlotte Tresa Reynolds, both of New Albany; his son Michael Everette Reynolds (Chris) of Taos, New Mexico; and his sister Garnet “Toots” Applegate of New Albany. He also leaves seven beloved grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Visitation is Sunday, 2-5 p.m., at the Market Street Chapel of Naville & Seabrook Funeral Homes, with funeral Monday, 10 a.m., at the funeral home, and burial to follow at Graceland Memorial Park. Expressions can be made to Culbertson Baptist Church.
