Phyllis A. Cockrum, 82, of New Albany passed away Wednesday night at Hillcrest Village in Jeffersonville, Indiana. She was born in New Albany to the late Elbert E. and Marjorie (Reinhart) Stevens. She was a member of Silver Street United Methodist Church in New Albany and was a graduate of Charlestown High School. She spent several years in Florida where she worked for 21 years as a Newspaper Carrier before moving to Texas and then returning to Indiana.
Survivors include her husband Donald J. Cockrum; sons, Michael Scott McCormick and Christopher D. McCormick; her daughter Melissa Diane McCormick; brother David Stevens; she has eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 11 AM - 7 PM Sunday and after 9 AM Monday at the Market St. Chapel of Naville & Seabrook Funeral Homes in New Albany.
A celebration of life service will be held at 10 AM Monday in the Market Street Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 11 AM November 23rd at Oakwood Cemetery in Waco, Texas.
