Verna Mae Kurnava, 86, of New Albany, IN, formerly of Ashtabula, passed away peacefully on Saturday afternoon, June 15, 2019. She was born in Uniontown, Pennsylvania where she met the love of her life, Thomas Kurnava and moved to Ashtabula Ohio. She was a secretary for over 20 years at Columbus Junior High School. She had a passion for playing Bridge and Pinochle as well as traveling the world. She enjoyed casinos, scratch offs, Tanqueray gin and the company of many wonderful friends.
Survivors include her daughter Leslie Lawson of Houston TX; her daughter Allison Milantoni (Tom) of New Albany, IN; her son Thomas Kurnava of Noblesville, IN; her grandson Andrew Lawson of Ft Drum, NY; her sisters Maryann Lowden, Glenshaw, PA and Myra Camino (Arnold), Houston, TX; Phyllis Kozub (sister in law),Henderson, NV, Donald Kingan (brother in law), Uniontown, PA. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas Kurnava; brother Andrew (Sonny) Kozub and sister Patty Kingan.
Her final resting place will be next to her husband at Arlington Cemetery.
