Gordon Lee Martin, 64, of New Albany passed away Monday afternoon in Corydon, Indiana as the result of a drowning accident. He was born in New Albany to the late Carl and Romane (Hammond) Martin. He was a 1973 graduate of New Albany High School and was formerly employed with NAFC Schools. He was a longtime member of Burlington Bible Church in Burlington, Kentucky where he served as a board member. He will be remembered always as quiet, humble person who was always there to help his friends and family in any way he could. He was multi-talented and could fix and do just about anything with knowledge and skills that included everything from electrical to construction to being a self-taught musician.
He is survived by his wife Nancy (Wilson) Martin who remembers Gordon as a loving and adoring husband who always cared for her and provided a rich life of companionship.
He is also survived by his cousin Marcus Martin (Tammara) who was like a brother to him. His brothers and sisters-in law Diana Parsley (Daniel), Debbie Donan (Larry), Roxann Wilson, Jeffrey and Tina Wilson and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-law, sister in law Connie Corn, brother-in-law Alan Wilson and his beloved uncles and his aunt.
Visitation will be from 4-8 PM Thursday at Naville & Seabrook Funeral Homes (1119 E. Market, St. New Albany, IN).
His funeral service will be held 10 AM Friday in the Market Street Chapel with burial to follow at Edwardsville Cemetery.
