Helen E. Moser, 99, passed away Thursday at Maple Manor Christian Home. She was born and grew up in Harrison County, Indiana to the late Charles and Della Miller. She went to Lanesville High School and would attend the graduations yearly. Helen married Arnold “Bud” Moser in 1945 and they lived all of their married life in Floyds Knobs as self-sufficient farmers. They maintained hay fields, dairy cattle, a saw-mill, orchards full of fruit trees (they sold the fruit at farmer’s markets) as well as a personal vegetable garden. Helen was extremely proud of her farm life. She was also a co-founder of the Southern Indiana Genealogical Society and a life-long, active member of Mount Tabor Presbyterian Church.
Helen is survived by her son, Randall Moser (Connie); daughter, Phyllis Scannell (Tony); sister, Hazel Traub; grandchildren, Jimmy, Bethany, Ben, Mollie and Ellie; 7 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Helen is preceded in death by her husband, Arnold “Bud” Moser and brothers, Hanley, William, Lawrence, Weldon “Woody” and Lowell Miller.
Visitation will take place at the Market Street Chapel of Naville & Seabrook Funeral Homes on Saturday, 10 AM – 1 PM, with funeral service following. She will be buried at Mount Tabor Cemetery.
