Obituary

James H. “Shorty” Shuck Jr. of Gravel Switch, KY, born December 13, 1947, passed away August 7, 2020 due to health complications. He retired after 20 years working for Airguard Industries and spent his most recent years building wooden bird feeders, dollhouses and miniature log cabins and houses which were sold at True North boutique in New Albany as well as various farmer’s markets. James will be remembered as a selfless person with the greatest sense of humor. He will be deeply missed by his friends and family.

James is survived by his wife, Elsa; son, James W. Shuck; daughters, Angie Coomer (Todd Boling), Cathy Satterfield (Travis), Cheryl Shuck (Carl Genton); brother, Ronald Shuck (Paula); sister, Patricia Williams; 8 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Josephine Shuck and brother, Eddie Shuck.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, 1 pm – 7 pm and Thursday, 11 am – 12 pm at the Market Street location of Naville & Seabrook Funeral Homes. Funeral service will follow Thursday’s visitation, at noon.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be in James’ name to the Floyd County Animal Rescue League.
