ROY E. WOLFE, JR., 89, passed away Tuesday May 21, 2019 at the Autumn Woods Health Campus. He was born in New Albany, was an Army Veteran of the Korean War and he attended Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church. Roy retired from the New Albany Police Department(NAPD) after more than 30 years of service, and was the only man ever to hold every rank for the NAPD from Patrolman up to Chief. He was a member of the DePauw Masonic Lodge #338 F & AM, the FOP Lodge #99 and the American Legion Post #42. He was preceded in death by his wife: Patty L. Wolfe, his parents: Opal and Roy E. Wolfe Sr., and his dog: Bandit.
Survivors include: his sister: Linda Hines and her husband Ralph,
2 cousins: Betty Kaiser and Jim Wolfe,
and his dear friend: Selma Dempster.
A Celebration of Roy’s life will be held at 10 AM Saturday May 25, 2019 at the Market Street Chapel of Naville & Seabrook(1119 E. Market St.) with entombment in SCI-Graceland Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 2 – 8 PM Friday.
Memorial Contributions may be given to: The FOP Lodge #99, the Floyd County Animal Rescue League or the Salvation Army.
