David Joe Warren, age 65, of Sellersburg, passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 28, 2020, surrounded by his loving family.
Dave was immensely proud of his family, and leaves behind nothing but beautiful memories. Big Dave was bigger than life and a loving, selfless husband, father and grandfather. He was an avid golfer and lover of all-things basketball, from his successful playing days in high school and college to his ever-present role in the stands as Big Pop watching his children and grandchildren.
Born July 17, 1954, in Fairfield, IL, he was the son of Maurice Warren and Chuck and Nila Veatch, all of whom preceded him in death. On December 28, 1974, at Ellen Moore Methodist Church in Fairfield, IL, he married his high school sweetheart Carol Lee Smith. Dave played college basketball at the University of Evansville and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Southern Indiana. He enjoyed a very successful sales career in capital medical equipment.
Survivors include his loving wife Carol, one son Michael (Nicole) Warren of New Albany, one daughter Mallory (Kyle) Kippes of New Albany; grandchildren: Maddox Warren, Macy Warren and Klifton Kippes. Dave was preceded in death by one son Mitchell Warren. Dave is survived by one brother, Terry Warren (Marsha) of Tampa, FL, along with two sisters, Charlotte Wise (Jeff) of Fairfield, IL and Maurine Wheeler (Brian) of Odessa, FL.
The family will be holding a private celebration of Big Dave’s life.
