Sidney Hope Stocksdale, 93, passed away at home Sunday morning June 21, 2020, with her family by her side. She was the former Sidney Anderson, born in Louisville, KY. Sidney retired as a Registered Nurse from Floyd Memorial Hospital after more than 30 years of service. She was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church and was also active at Centenary United Methodist Church. Sidney was instantly adored by anyone she met. Her presence consistently radiated a loving energy characterized by a warm smile, listening ear, and gentle spirit. She had a genuine heart of gold; and was described as the sweetest and kindest lady with enduring patience. Never one to boast or exalt herself, Sidney truly lived a life dedicated to giving and the well-being of others. Her hobbies included much reading, miles of walking, and spending loads of time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband: William A. Stocksdale Sr., her son: Victor L. Stocksdale, her grandson: Cobey Stocksdale and her parents: Sidney Anderson and Nella Anderson Frederick.

her daughter: Toni Stocksdale Martin
her stepson: William "Bill" Stocksdale Jr.
7 Grandchildren: Dustin Stocksdale (Shiloh), Jason Stocksdale (Annie),
Corey Stocksdale (Abby), Jacob Stocksdale, Carissa Martin, Wm. Brett Martin and Hallie Stocksdale, and 7 Great Grandchildren.
A Celebration of Sidney’s life will be held at 3 PM Wednesday June 24, 2020 at the Oak Street Chapel of Naville & Seabrook Funeral Homes(1846 E. Oak Street). Visitation will be held from 10 AM – 3 PM before the service.
Memorial Contributions may be given to Hosparus of Southern Indiana.
